Welcome to my web site.
On Sunday 20th March the legendary H.G. Nelson will officially launch Geoff’s new collection Waltzing with Jack Dancer: a slow dance with cancer to an invited audience in Adelaide. As well as Geoff’s poetry the book contains graphic photographs by Randy Larcombe taken through Geoff’s recovery and a short story by Geoff’s teenage daughter, Grace Goodfellow. Her story ‘The C Word’ was short-listed for the 2010 Somerset National Novella Award which Grace won outright in 2008.
The book is a narrative of Geoff’s battle and ultimate survival. Wakefield Press will release a first print-run of 2,500 paperbacks as well as a limited edition hardback, signed & numbered. A must have for the serious collector! click onto ‘Finding Myself’ to sample one of the poems which was originally published in The Weekend Australian and subsequently in the UQP Best Australian Poetry 2009 edited by Alan Wearne.
You can also read ‘The Seventh Doctor’, the anchor poem of this new collection. It’s now on-line courtesy of Famous Reporter #41

Geoff recently appeared on ABC TV Stateline with Adelaide photographer Randy Larcombe. Here's a link to the segment.
The Advertiser SA Weekend Magazine 23rd May 2009carried a five page feature article on Geoff's battle with cancer. Here's the link to the story 'No Surrender'.
In February 2008 Geoff was given 1 – 5 years to live. No wonder photographer Simon Cecere found him recently with a huge smile.
